According to the 2000 Census, Alameda County is the fifth most ethnically diverse county in the United States. Our own service area encompasses a population that is 31.6% Asian/Pacific Islander, 22.9% Latino/Hispanic, 5.6% African American, 0.3% Native American, and 5.1% multicultural and other ethnic populations, and 34.5% white.
At TCHC itself, 43% percent of our patient population is Hispanic or Latino, 28% Asian, 10% Black/African American, 1% American Indian, 1% Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, and 18% are non-Hispanic White.
